We regret to inform you that we have to postpone our 1st international camp for Rovers and Senior Rovers in Yogyakarta: the Jogja International Scout Camp (JISC) scheduled to be held on 3-8 September 2018, (has been cancelled) to mid of the year 2020 due to volcanic activity escalation of Mount Merapi (2,930 meters above sea level), located at just 30 km North of Yogyakarta city.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we look forward to greeting your large NSO contingent in the renewed schedule of JISC, mid of the year 2020, at the same venue: “Rama-Shinta” Camping Ground, Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta.
The postponement is based on the advised from Yogyakarta Volcanic Examination and Advisory Board (BPPTKG) who stated that Mount Merapi is becoming more active in the month of May 2018. Gases and ashes have been moving up and emerge from Mount Merapi.
BPPTKG on 21st of May 2018 has raised the alert level to 2nd stage which consider possibility of eruption and also chance of flank eruption in the coming 4-5 months and warned a repeat of the large past eruption in 2006 and 2010, which may cause the closing of Yogyakarta international airport.
If you need more information about this, please do not hesitate to write us at e-mail address of firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank you for your attention and interest to participate in our upcoming JISC event, and again apologize for any inconveniences this postponement.
